Assembly/Production Operators

MGM Brakes, a division of Indian Head Industries, Inc. is the leading supplier of spring brake actuators for the commercial vehicle industry.  We are currently seeking highly enthusiastic individuals for Assembly/Production Operators located in Murphy, N.C.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assembly/Production Operator is responsible for several different positions which may rotate to perform a variety of assembly job functions on the production line. Some of the job responsibility components for each position include performing all jobs in a safe manner and completing logs and charts as required by specified work instructions. An Assembly/Production Operator must be able to work well within an assembly line environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Ability to follow established work instructions and/or procedures
  • Ability to use gages where required
  • Ability to read and understand quality specifications
  • Must be able to identify parts by part number
  • Understands and completes shop papers as required
  • Repetitive lifting up to 30 lbs. is required
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

Human Resources Supervisor

MGM Brakes, a division of Indian Head Industries, Inc., is the leading supplier of spring brake actuators for the commercial vehicle industry.  We are currently seeking a highly enthusiastic individual for a Human Resources Supervisor, located in our Cloverdale, California manufacturing facility.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Supervisor is responsible for one or more of the following human resources functions for the hourly employees of the Cloverdale Plant: recruitment/selection, state and federal employment law and practices, compliance programs (Affirmative Action, OSHA, EEO, FMLA, and ADA, & etc). Responsible for administering and maintaining HRIS systems, programs, procedures and plans according to HR policies and will provide assistance to all levels of personnel on various HR-related issues.  Explain and interpret HR policies and procedures, responds to employees' questions and concerns. Other major areas of responsibility include administering weekly payroll and payroll activity for hourly personnel, hourly employee new hire orientations and benefit enrollments, employee relations, and manage day to day HR administration.  The Human Resources Supervisor is responsible for the administration of the local union contract; bringing to the attention of management when contract issues may arise; assists in dispute mediation and union contract negotiations. Work closely with Plant Manager as well as the Charlotte Corporate Human Resources, Benefit, and Payroll staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Relations or related field and minimum 7+ years of HR mid-level or management experience.
  • Familiarity with federal and state employment laws.
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office programs, HRIS (Infinium) software.
  • Knowledge of employment principles and practices.
  • Effective Oral and Written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to research, read and interpret laws, rules and regulations.
  • Ability to show sensitivity, tact and professionalism towards employees.
  • Ability to adhere to strict code of confidentiality.

The amount of required business travel can be up to 50-75% throughout assigned territory.
